Mumbai, December 23, 2021: The month of December is perhaps the most magical month of it all. Cold, yet warm with the joy of Christmas coupled with the hope for the New Year. Celebrating Christmas in its true spirit of spreading joy and hope, Growel’s 1O1 Mall in Kandivali (Mumbai) organised a Jolly Jamboree on the December 23, 2021 for around 30 underprivileged children supported by the NGO Bright Kids Foundation. The activities were conducted with safety precautions and social distancing.

 Jolly Jamboree children were mesmerised looking at the decor that adorns the mall with huge Christmas ornaments hanging from the high ceilings of the mall atriums. Greeted by a friendly host upon arrival, children were engaged in a plethora of fun-filled activities, fun rides at the Kids Carnival play area, party games and goodies to build in the excitement.

The spectacular decoration at Growel’s 1O1 Mall is themed on Santa’s Village this year. Jolly Jamboree center piece of the magnificent décor is a life size Santa’s House cum Christmas Tree. The excitement reached another level when the ‘Santa’ arrived to meet and greet each child individually with a gift. Children were excited to walk into the hut and click pictures with Santa Claus and the giant candies that decorate the inside of the house. Jolly Jamboree dream like ‘Fairy Tale Chariot’ besides the house is absolutely picture worthy and exciting for the little guests. Thereafter children were then taken to the food court where they were comfortably seated to enjoy refreshments.

Speaking about the gesture by Growel’s 1O1 Mall, Jaya Balachandran, Founder & Honorary Director- Bright Kids Foundation, said, “We are pleased by this generous gesture of giving a fun time to these children who have perhaps been most anxious throughout the last two years of the pandemic. Such outings are not only fun for the children but also help in encouraging them and building their ambition.”

Expressing his views, Sachin Dhanawade, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Retail & Real Estate, Grauer & Weil (India) Limited, which operates Growel’s 1O1 Mall in Kandivali, said, “We were delighted that Bright Kids Foundationaccepted our invitation and gave us the opportunity to create some fun time for these children. Growel’s 101 Mall is committed to playing an active role towards the betterment of the society and surroundings they operate in. With this thought the charity was started with the aim of making dreams come true for underprivileged children through education. Bright Kids Foundation believes in a holistic development of our students hence in addition to working on their academic skills we encourage children to explore and develop their other skills, be it creative or athletic skills. Presently Bright Kids Foundation has two projects namely, Project School With A Difference that has 104 students for academic year 2021 -22 coming to the GoraiCentre from Kg to 10th Std; and Project Bright Kids that provides financial support to 100 students from lower income group families with monthly income of less than INR 15,000.
