In a horrifying occurrence, the police apprehended a 22-year-old man for reportedly raping and brutally killing a six-year-old girl at Vandipperiyar near Kumily in Kerala’s Idukki district.

The accused is the victim’s next-door neighbor and a social worker. On June 30, the girl’s body was discovered hanging in a room at her parents’ home in Churakkulam Estate.

The autopsy and medical investigation of the corpse confirmed that the kid had been raped before. “The offender had raped the kid many times before she was discovered hanging inside the estate lane house,” the police officer added.

According to police sources, the child’s parents had allowed the accused, an active social worker affiliated with the ruling CPI(M’s youth wing, the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the right to enter their home at any time. He accused her of enticing the infant by promising her candy and then sexually abusing her for three years.  He, on the other hand, began using her when she was three years old.

According to the authorities, the crime occurred on June 30 when the accused reportedly raped the little girl while her parents worked on the tea plantation. Initially, the police had classified it as an unintentional fatality. Although he had previously physically mistreated the victim, she passed out on June 30 while being raped. The accused used a scarf to hang the girl in the lane room to hide the murder. Sources claim that the kid, who was not dead at the time, opened her eyes while being hanged and that the youth did not intervene in the murder.

“It appears that he had already raped the girl several times. On June 30, however, the kid became unconscious during his assault, and he hung her, believing she was dead, according to authorities. The accused attended the girl’s burial without remorse and acted passionately over her death.
