Merkle’s InternStellar awards 2022 rewards cutting-edge work by interns

The Customer Experience Management company recognized interns for their stellar projects in the field of analytics and technology.

The second edition of Merkle’s InternStellar Awards (formerly Ugam’s InternStellar Awards) was a great success. Interns in the field of analytics and technology were recognized for their cutting-edge work.

Merkle’s Internstellar Awards celebrates excellence among high-performing interns who are skilled problem solvers, inquisitive learners, and effective communicators.

The InternStellar interns are selected from top colleges in India and divided into multidisciplinary teams.

Throughout their internship, they are mentored by experts at Merkle who guide them as they work on real business problems and gain hands-on industry experience.

This year, students from the Manipal Institute of Technology, NMIMS Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, and Sardar Patel Institute of Technology participated in the program.

The projects focused on improving natural language capabilities, simulating human browsing patterns, analyzing the impact of price elasticities, and evaluating Cypress for automation. The interns also worked on building scalable data pipelines, stock outage reporting mechanisms, and automating and designing tests.

Apart InternStellar from receiving mentorship on the hard skills required for these projects, the interns were also exposed to different soft skill training sessions. They learnt how to clearly understand and articulate the business problem and solution and communicate a story that resonates with the audience.

Besides understanding the technological requirements of the industry, the interns were able to experience working in a corporate setting.

The internship experience also provided interns with the opportunity to present their cutting-edge work before a panel of industry experts. The panel evaluated the interns’ presentations and asked them some thought-provoking questions.

“What I am witnessing today is high level of energy, commitment and, out-of-the-box thinking. This is an opportunity for interns to showcase their communication and presentation skills and not just their analytics skills.”

Tarun Kumar, formerly Data Strategist and Evangelist at NASSCOM. He said,

“Merkle’s internship program exposes students to real world problems and enables them to develop multidisciplinary expertise. Through mentorship by experts, the interns build a consultative and problem-solving mindset. This program encourages them to build on the learnings from college and apply them to solve business problems. We are thrilled to reward the innovative approaches and solutions our interns deliver.”

Navin Dhananjaya, Chief Solutions Officer at Ugam, a Merkle company said,
Merkle’s InternStellar Awards is set to return for its third edition next year. It will continue to be a platform for students to experience working in a corporate environment as they deliver stellar work.
