Goofy Tails has produced a complete line to service a pet’s everyday life from the time they wake up to the time they go back to sleep, as well as their entire lifecycle.
Pet toys, bowls, feeders, litter, grooming accessories, beds, mats, buildings, trees, water fountains, bows, and party decorations are among the things available to promote the government’s Make in India – Goofy project.
The rise of the Indian pet food market, which is expected to reach INR 2,707 crore by 2020, supports the Indian pet care products market.
According to industry figures, the pet care business in India is worth over Rs 4,000 crore and increasing at a CAGR of about 30%. The segment is anticipated to exceed the 10,000 crore mark in two or three years.
Goofy Tails began in 2018 as a direct-to-consumer pet product reseller, acquiring and trading accessories and food, and plans to create an e-commerce platform in 2020.
This aided the shift to its own label, which accounts for more than 65% of its total sales today. These products are available on its platform, i.e., Goofy Tails, Amazon, Flipkart, and a few online and offline resellers.
In India, the demand for pet accessories has increased by 30%, according to Goofy Tails. The pet items of Goofy Tails are made in the Goofy Design Studio in Okhla, New Delhi, India.
The design studio ideates, brainstorms, designs and develops prototypes of Pet Toys and Accessories ranging from fancy bow ties for dogs to cute plush toys to footballs designed for pets.
More than 75% of Goofy items are now created and manufactured in India. Goofy Tails intends to design, develop, and produce more than 90% of their product line in India.
‘As the COVID shutdown was announced, everything shut down, including imports, etc, and it provided us an idea and the encouragement to start designing and manufacturing in our nation and coincide with our PM Narendra Modi’s mission of ‘Make in India,’ said Kunal Gupta, Co-founder, Goofy Tails.
We are constantly introducing new goods to our existing portfolio. More control over lead time, input prices, and development lifecycle has helped Goofy Tails the most. Most significantly, the founders are driven by the simple joy of development.
The Indian fabric and rubber industries have discovered a new way to increase capacity and profitability. The ‘Make in India’ effort in the pet products sector gave birth to a new industry, which resulted in job creation and higher gross margins.
During the early days of Covid, Goofy Tails notably assisted a few producers from Shut Shop in resuming production of pet items and accessories and resuming business.
