Edelweiss Tokio Life among Great Place To Work’s ‘India’s Best Workplaces™ in BFSI 2022’

Insurer gets ‘Great Place to Work-Certified™’ for second consecutive year

A testament to its inclusive, equitable and employee-centric work practices, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance has secured a spot among Great Place To Work’s ‘India’s Best Workplaces™ in BFSI 2022.’ The insurer has earned this recognition in addition to its Great Place to Work® Certification for a second year in a row.

Commenting on the development, Vikas Bansal, Chief Human Resource Officer, Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance said, “We had to reinvent the entire playbook during the pandemic years, and it has certainly offered a steep learning curve. Our business is heavily reliant on trust and therefore requires an incredibly engaged set of people who are committed to the organizational vision. So, all the initiatives undertaken were aligned with the goal of reinforcing our people’s belief in the organization. These initiatives showed them their potential growth journeys and also what the future of our business looks like.”

A noteworthy reason behind this achievement has been Edge, an initiative that seeks to design an employee’s journey within the organization. It focusses on three aspects – Growth, Development, and Impacting Lives.

Through the Growth pillar, the company has mapped out a growth journey for every employee. The Development pillar provides employees a platform to enhance their skills through a series of functional, business, and personal learning programmes. The Impacting Lives pillar focuses on the complete physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing of employees.

The company views the EDGE program as a crucial tool for bringing out the uniqueness or ‘edge’ of every employee to the forefront and help them further hone their abilities through these pillars.

The crowning achievement of Edge in the year gone by has been the creation of Diversity and Inclusion framework. The insurer not only appointed its first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, but also set up a council that will work with employees to build a Diverse, Equitable and Inclusive workplace for the future. Through a slew of initiatives like Wellbeing of Women (WOW), Women Leadership Programme, Revision in Parental Leaves policy and much more, the insurer has set its long-term vision for Diversity & Inclusion in motion.

“We want to learn from the best practices globally and across sectors to build an organization that creates a supportive and nurturing environment for its people. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is the next important chapter for our organization, and we believe it will give us robust dividends in the future,” Bansal added.
