Many people think that when you have all the luxury items and can buy whatever you want, this is an example of your lifestyle.

However, in my opinion, how a person lives is called LifeStyle.

“The purpose of our lives is to be happy.” — Dalai Lama.

The new normal way of life is full of hassles, deadlines, frustrations, and demands despite the lockdown at the personal and professional levels.

And primarily because of your lifestyle, chronic stress starts causing damage to your health, your mood, your productivity, your relationships, and your quality of life. It disrupts every system in your body. It can raise blood pressure, suppress the immune system, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, contribute to infertility, and speed up the aging process. 

As Steve Jobs once said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.”

Your work is filling a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Here, maybe some current trending lifestyles may come in as a handy choice such as a vegan lifestyle, a minimalist lifestyle, a green lifestyle, and so on.

Lifestyle changes mean modifying things we each have control over, like changes in diet, thinking in our daily routine. For a start, ask yourself these questions to one’s self:

What your core values are?

What do I want my life to be like?

What type of lifestyle is the most authentic expression of who you are?

What you get the most pleasure and satisfaction from?

Answering these questions will help you Define the ideal lifestyle you are interested in living ahead. I started to do the same with my career and try new things out. I discovered that my network grew, and my inner circle of influence became more durable and reliable.

Don’t be afraid of change ever.

Of course, adding some great habits such as regular physical activity, Forgiveness, following your passion, developing a new hobby, reducing meal portion size, Preventive healthcare screening, Adequate sleep, Strength and flexibility, Laugh, Family and friends, Quiet mind, Gratitude, trying something new will immensely help. 

A recent study found that five bad behaviors—Staying glued to your phone, smoking, drinking too much alcohol, not exercising, and not eating enough fruits and veggies—can hustle you into an early grave in effect, age you by as many as 12 years.

So “Sing like no one’s listening, love as you’ve never been hurt, dance like nobody’s watching, and live like its heaven on earth.
