The Alliance for Corporate Counsel and Company Secretaries (ACoS) held its 6th Annual Meet & International Summit on 15th July 2022 at Hotel Eros, New Delhi.
The theme of the summit was Global Business and International Laws. Over 100 eminent General Counsels and Partners from leading law firms came together at this event to share insights relevant to both sides of the legal profession.
During the opening address, Parvesh Kheterpal, Founder, ACoS and Head Legal and Company Secretary, Feedback Infra, said, “More emphasis should be given to the role of General Counsels in the country as they play a major role in value addition and giving strategic advice. The In-house Counsel profession should be regulated and get statutory recognition, strengthening not only the legal profession as a whole but also the businesses that G.C.s advise.” He thanked all in-house counsels for their support and said he wants ACoS to be a collaborative community rather than an individual-led platform.
The inaugural session was joined by Raghu C.V., Group General Counsel, Samvardhana Motherson Group; Manish Lamba, General Counsel, DLF Cyber City Developers; and Raka Roy, Partner, Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants.
During the day, there were deliberations on different subjects, including ADR and Third-Party Funding; White Collar Crime Investigations; Crypto, Blockchain, and Cyber Security Challenges; Six Years of IBC; ESG and New age G.C.s – Turning Barriers into Building Blocks. The discussions were in the form of technical sessions and panel discussions, with interactive Q&A rounds.
ACoS is expanding its reach this year with the launch of new chapters in four cities: Bengaluru and Mumbai. The Alliance is committed to all In-house counsels for exchanging views, sharing knowledge, and helping young lawyers unique in the profession. It constantly endeavors to discuss essential developments in law, legislation, regulations, and judicial pronouncements.
